City Hall Music Sessions

I recently went to the marvelous Cape Town City Hall for the first time. The hall is a beautiful old building, with large staircases flanked by marble statues and balconies. The City has pimped out the hall (in lights at least) for the City Hall Music Sessions, in it's second year (I think- the website is not very useful), whereby a performer takes to the stage for a good ol'shindig in classic surrounds. We saw Ismael Lo, a Senegalese singer, who was quite fun, but just being at the session was fun in and of itself. Don't miss the open air bar on the rooftop upstairs-a lovely way to take in the city's nightscape.

Cape Town Music Sessions at the City hall (yes, that is a ginormous organ at the back of the stage)
