Last night I went along with Simon to help him and Kerry build cupboards for Kerry's new flat (and Simon's new place to live)[other Kerry, not my flatmate Kerry]. We had five cupboards to do (DIY style) with no instructions. You'd think it would be simple but really its not. After much starting and stopping and pulling out and redoing we managed to get a nice square cupboard, all right angles and all. We struggled a bit getting the topshelf in (as it should've been done before the back was nailed in- this was where instructions would have come in handy) but were very chuffed when we managed it. Gaily we decided we'd put in the slide in shelves and see our near finished cupboard, but oh no, what's this, the holes in the sides (where you put the thingies the shelves rest on) don't match up, but how can that be?! Turns out the sides don't match (yes, they were both the right way up). After much backwardsing and forwardsing we eventually figured out that all the left sides didn't match any of the right sides and that the building company must have sent the wrong right sides (as the cupboard doors matched up with the left sides), what a gedoente! After all that we're going to have to pull it apart when they send the correct pieces! Really!
