The South African Ski Club

Last night our 'Canadian' bunch (that's Sara, Dave, Steve and I who were all in Whistler together) listened to a talk (read membership pitch) on the South African Ski Club. Apparently the second oldest ski club in the world it was established in the 1930's and is still going today (obviously). It was very amusing watching the skiers tumbling around on the slope of 250 m in their mismatched 80's outfits! the snow was strewn with rocks and dips and people on the ground, what a difference to groomed perfection with a deep base and loads of space to miss the fallen! Well at least there were playing in the snow, which is more than I can say for myself at the moment!
